Biochar development in Urban Landscapes: Bloomberg Towns
Developing the Urban Biochar Ecosystem
Cities represent an exciting venue for biochar creation and utilization. Based on its experience supporting the Stockholm Biochar Project, Bloomberg Philanthropies is working to replicate its successes in other cities. Three U.S. cities, Cincinnati (OH), Lincoln (NE), and Minneapolois (MN) have been awarded financial assistance from Bloomberg to do just that. Panelists represent each of these cities and will discuss different aspects of their projects, including objectives, feedstock, roles and responsibilities for operation, methods of production, anticipated uses, financials and more.
